A trip without seasickness: gentle routes
Quick question—my mom is a bit motion-sensitive, and I’m trying to figure out if short sea rides are doable without turning the evening into a “will she feel sick?” experiment. We prefer a gentle route, low-volume music, shade or an AC cabin, and lots of horizon to look at. Morning or just before sunset is fine. I’m not chasing hero stories here. I want realistic tips so she can enjoy the view, snap a couple of photos, and stay comfortable the whole time

Honestly, we handled this by booking a short, calm loop and asking the skipper to hug the shoreline. Mid-boat seating, eyes on the horizon, and small sips of water helped a ton. We also kept snacks light and skipped perfume/heavy meals beforehand. In the middle of planning I compared options on charterclick.com and filtered for shorter slots that felt like a mellow sunset cruise experience rather than an open-sea dash. The crew adjusted speed when the chop picked up, there was an indoor lounge with AC, and we had plenty of time for photos without feeling rushed. With those tweaks, even my aunt—usually the first to feel woozy—was totally fine.
